Job Title: Principal Engineer – Product Safety Engineering


Location: Flexible working arrangements available across various locations, including Barrow-in-Furness, Brough, Filton, Frimley, Portsmouth, Weymouth, and Manchester.


Salary: Circa £55,000


Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer – Product Safety Engineering to join our team. As a key member of our Product Safety Team, you will be responsible for the governance of safety analysis and assessment activities, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Your expertise will be essential in providing feedback and constructive criticism to address problematic areas and educate the wider business on safety policies.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the development and implementation of safety analysis and assessment activities
  • Ensure compliance with policies and regulations, including IEC 61508 and IEC 61511
  • Provide feedback and constructive criticism to address problematic areas
  • Educate the wider business on safety policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety is integrated into product development

Requirements:


  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Industrial Controls Systems and Functional Safety
  • Knowledge of Defence Standards and Cyber Safety
  • Previous experience with the Defence Industry (e.g., MoD)
  • Submarine Engineering experience (Naval or Industry)
