Principal Engineer

Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Brough, Filton, Frimley, Portsmouth, Weymouth or Manchester. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
Job Summary:
As a Principal Engineer - Product Safety, you will be responsible for the governance of safety analysis and assessment activities, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. You will work closely with the Product Safety Team to educate wider areas of the business on safety policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct safety risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety considerations are integrated into product development.
- Provide training and support to colleagues on safety-related topics.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Requirements:
- Chartered Engineer or equivalent experience.
- Experience in Industrial Controls Systems.
- TUV Functional Safety Expert certification.
- Strong knowledge of IEC 61508 and IEC 61511.
- Desirable: Strong knowledge of Cyber Safety and Defence Standards.
