Job Title: Principal Engineer – Product Safety Engineering


Location: Flexible working arrangements available across various locations, including Barrow-in-Furness, Brough, Filton, Frimley, Portsmouth, Weymouth, and Manchester.


Salary: Circa £55,000


Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer – Product Safety Engineering to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Product Safety Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our products, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement safety analysis and assessment activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert guidance on safety-related matters, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address safety concerns, ensuring a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and aligned with industry standards.

Requirements:


  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in Industrial Controls Systems and Functional Safety.
  • Strong knowledge of IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
