About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Controller to join our team at Sandown Motor Group. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for managing the workflow and resources to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimise workshop resources to meet departmental budgets and control the flow of work to maximise utilisation.
  • Monitor individual and workshop efficiencies to ensure key performance indicators are met.
  • Plan the distribution of work amongst the team, utilising available skills mix.
  • Identify individual training and development needs.
  • Manage liaison between workshop and service reception on customer vehicle progress.
  • Manage workshop standards in accordance with company requirements.
  • Resolve customer issues in line with MBUK standard and customer expectations.
  • Receive job cards from service reception, pre-time each job and allocate work to technicians to maximise sold hours and monitor progress of job.
  • Ensure that repair orders are raised and processed according to established guidelines and that work is completed to schedule.
  • Ensure that all internal and external customers receive excellent levels of customer service.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with previous workshop control experience or senior technician experience within the motor trade. You will have fantastic leadership qualities, high levels of attention to detail, and the ability to work in a methodical manner. Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop relationships effortlessly while keeping the customer in mind are essential.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £40,000 OTE £44,000, 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday with a 1-hour unpaid break, and Saturdays on a rota basis, paid as extra hours. Additionally, we offer a range of benefits, including company events, company pension, cycle to work scheme, employee discount, life insurance, referral programme, sick pay, and store discount.
