We are seeking a skilled Transport Behaviour Change Strategist to join our Future Transport team at the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving behaviour change across the transport sector, with a strong focus on understanding people's behaviour when choosing the right mode of transport.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has experience of managing complex initiatives and developing large-scale projects. The successful candidate will work closely with universities, local and national government, to develop a strong understanding of what is happening in the field and use this information to highlight opportunities for improvement.

The Influencing Transport Lab (ITL), a centre of excellence for transport behaviour change pioneered by WMCA, is a key component of this role. As an ambassador for the lab, the successful candidate will gather evidence to support how behavioural science can achieve improved transport outcomes in the West Midlands and across the UK.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • IDentifying funding opportunities and financial contributions towards expressions of interest/bids/applications
  • Scope, deliver, implement, and monitor Transport Behaviour Change projects
  • Drive forward new and innovative approaches to the delivery of Transport Behaviour initiatives
