Equine Yard Team Member

Plumpton College is recruiting for a talented and motivated Yard Assistant to contribute to the success of our equestrian operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing daily horse care routines, supervising students, and maintaining high welfare standards.
About the RoleThis exciting opportunity allows you to work closely with our Equine Yard Manager and Curriculum Manager to ensure the smooth running of our equine facilities. With a focus on teamwork and collaboration, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care for our horses and ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare.
Main Responsibilities- Horse Care and Wellbeing: Perform daily horse care routines, including grooming, mucking out, and tack cleaning.
- Student Support: Supervise and coach students to ensure safe and efficient horse husbandry practices.
- Facility Maintenance: Organize and maintain equipment and facilities, including harrowing arenas and managing horse health records.
- Horse Schooling and Training: Take a proactive role in horse schooling to ensure readiness for learners.
- Event Coordination: Assist in the planning and execution of public equine events.
We are looking for someone with a minimum Level 3 Horse Care qualification (or equivalent) and a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service. If you are passionate about working with horses and have a desire to learn and develop your skills, we would love to hear from you.
