About the Role

We are seeking a highly accomplished scientist with a strong research profile to join the Leicester Cancer Research Centre, within the Department of Genetics and Genome Biology. The successful candidate will conduct high-quality research and teaching in the field of cancer immunology and prevention, focusing on developing agents that prevent cancer and understanding the underlying mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and develop a new area of immunoprevention research within the Cancer Research Centre and Prevention Group.
  • Conduct research that supports strategic priorities in the Leicester Cancer Research Centre and wider Department.
  • Undertake teaching and administrative duties at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the College of Life Sciences, supporting modules and taught postgraduate courses in Cancer Molecular Pathology and Therapeutics and/or Clinical Sciences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop new biomarkers that indicate the clinical effectiveness of cancer prevention agents in trials and aid preclinical discovery.
About You

We are looking for an established researcher with a high-quality publication profile in cancer immunology or general immunology, with a strong interest in cancer and fundable research ideas. The successful candidate will have experience of research in cancer prevention or a willingness to apply their skills and expertise to this area. They will also have a collaborative attitude to research and excellent networking skills.

This is a full-time position, with the possibility of job sharing considered. The appointment is permanent.
