Job Title: Support Worker for Children with SEND

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate support worker to join our inclusive school in Stratford Upon Avon. As a Support Worker for Children with SEND, you will play a vital role in ensuring children with special educational needs receive the tailored education and care they require to succeed in a learning environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualised support to children with a range of SEND requirements, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and physical disabilities.
  • Collaborate with the lead SEND Coordinator to develop and implement tailored education plans that meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and motivating environment that fosters self-esteem and independence in pupils.
  • Use a variety of teaching resources and sensory equipment to engage and stimulate learning in line with each child's individual requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and provide valuable feedback on student progress.
  • Promote effective communication between pupils, teachers, parents, and other relevant professionals.
  • Comply with school policies, including safeguarding and child protection protocols, at all times.
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with SEND or in a similar support role is advantageous.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to dealing with challenging behaviors and situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children and adults.
  • A proactive and collaborative attitude with a commitment to inclusive education.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check.
  • Flexibility with working hours to accommodate the needs of students and the school.
