The Role
As a Structural Analysis Engineer at QinetiQ, you will be part of a dynamic team working on a diverse portfolio of projects. Your expertise in finite element modelling methods, using ABAQUS, will be essential in simulating the response of complex materials and structures in challenging environments.
Recent and current activities within the team include:

- De-risking the development of large composite structures for major UK maritime programmes
- Supporting the development of hypersonic airframe technologies
While the majority of the work is anticipated to be Farnborough-based, occasional off-site working is possible. Current operations include provision for home-working, which may continue, though it is not guaranteed and may not be possible for all projects.
Essential Experience:
- Experienced structural analyst, with strong analytical and numerical skills
- Expert in finite element modelling methods, using ABAQUS
- Ability to deliver projects that include high levels of novel research and methods development as well as undertaking traditional engineering assessments and design-support activities
- Knowledge of adjacent technical disciplines such as design, manufacturing, materials, aerodynamics/hydrodynamics
- Track record in writing high-quality technical reports and delivery of presentations to customers and audiences of all levels
Qualifications:
A background in aerospace, space or weapons domains would be beneficial, but provided you can show the required level of skill and experience, we would like to hear from you.
Our Benefits:
- Generous holiday allowance
- Health Cash Plan, Private Medical Insurance and Dental Insurance
- Matched contribution pension scheme, with life assurance
- Employee discount portal: Personal Accident Insurance, Travel Insurance, Restaurants, Cinema Tickets and much more
