**The Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Media Streaming Backend Engineer to join our Media Streaming Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in leading the development and optimization of our streaming technologies.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Lead the development and optimization of our streaming technologies to ensure a seamless playback experience for our users.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features and services that meet the evolving needs of our artists and fans.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of audio/video codecs, streaming protocols (HLS, DASH), and transport container technologies.
  • Design and implement scalable and efficient media streaming architectures using microservices, databases, and automated testing.
  • Work closely with our infrastructure team to ensure seamless integration with cloud-based platforms (e.g. AWS S3, ECS, Lambda, CloudFront) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Develop and maintain expertise in monitoring, analytics, and ensuring high availability of distributed systems.
  • Collaborate with our security team to ensure the implementation of robust content protection and encryption technologies.

**Requirements**

  • 10+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on media streaming technologies.
  • Proficiency in Go is essential, and experience with additional programming languages such as Scala is highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of audio/video codecs, streaming protocols (HLS, DASH), and transport container technologies.
  • Proven experience with microservices architecture, databases, and automated testing, coupled with a strong background in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Deep understanding of cloud-based platforms, (e.g. AWS S3, ECS, Lambda, CloudFront), and hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Expertise in monitoring, analytics, and ensuring high availability of distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with content protection and encryption technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
