Administrative Support Specialist for Health Protection
1 week ago
NHS Scotland is committed to fostering a culture of equality and diversity in our workforce, ensuring that each employee feels valued and respected. To achieve this goal, we welcome applications from individuals representing all sections of society.
We are dedicated to supporting disabled candidates and those with long-term conditions or neurodivergent individuals by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment process.
The role of Administrative Support Specialist is critical in providing administrative assistance to the East Region Health Protection Team. The Department of Public Health and Health Policy aims to enhance and protect the health of people in Lothian as part of a comprehensive approach to public health in Scotland.
As an Administrative Support Specialist, you will have significant experience in carrying out business and administration tasks. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team, develop your skills, and contribute to the various functions provided by Public Health and Health Policy.
We seek an individual with strong communication and organizational skills to provide administrative support to the East Regional Health Protection Service. The service provides Health Protection functions for NHS Lothian, NHS Fife, NHS Forth Valley, and NHS Borders. It is worth noting that the service is expected to move to a host board in the future.
This role involves hybrid working, requiring a minimum of 2 days in the office each week.
For further information on the role's responsibilities and required skills/experience, please refer to the job description and person specification links at the bottom of the screen. If you have any questions after reading this information, please contact Lynn McFarlane.
Please note that we anticipate a high level of interest in this position and may close the vacancy early if we receive a sufficient number of applications. We recommend completing and submitting your application at an early stage.
NHS Scotland is transitioning to a reduced full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from April 2024, with no change in pay. This reduction will also apply pro-rata for part-time staff. However, some service areas may require employees to work up to 30 minutes extra per week temporarily until their rosters or working patterns accommodate the new reduced working week.
