Job Title: Companion - Live-in PA

We are seeking a compassionate and supportive Personal Assistant to join our team as a live-in carer. The successful candidate will provide daily living assistance to a disabled lady, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.

Job Purpose:

The Personal Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the lady with her daily needs, enabling her to maintain her independence and quality of life. The successful candidate will also provide companionship and support to her 17-year-old son, who suffers from ME, nose bleeds, and chronic tiredness.

Main Duties:
  • Personal care, including showering, dressing, and catheter care
  • Meal preparation and grocery shopping
  • Household tasks, including laundry, cleaning, and gardening
  • Supporting the lady and her son with their daily routines and activities
  • Accompanying the lady to social events, medical appointments, and other activities in the community
Person Specification:

We are looking for a candidate who is:

  • Sensible and supportive
  • Easy-going with a sense of humour
  • Caring, understanding, and compassionate
  • Trained in medication support and super pubic catheter care
  • Not overpowering or intimidating
  • Good with a 17-year-old boy (who suffers with ME, nose bleeds, and chronic tiredness)
  • Helpful with organizing
  • Holder of a clean driving license
Terms and Conditions:
  • Reimbursement for agreed expenses
  • Rate of pay: £809.94 per week
  • Live-in carer on a week-on, week-off basis
  • Satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Satisfactory passing of mandatory training care courses
  • Satisfactory references from two referees
  • Completion of a satisfactory probation period of 6 months
