About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated scientist to join our Translational Genomics and Precision Medicine Department at Novo Nordisk A/S. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the discovery and development of new drug targets and biomarkers through human-centric approaches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute high-throughput genetic discovery screens, Mendelian randomization studies, and precision medicine approaches to identify novel drug targets and biomarkers.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement cutting-edge genomics and bioinformatics tools and databases.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in genomics, statistical genetics, and machine learning techniques applied to large-scale genomics data.
  • Communicate complex scientific concepts and insights to diverse audiences through presentations, publications, and collaborations.

About the Department

You will be part of our Human Genetics CoE, which focuses on using data science and human genetics to drive innovation in drug development. Our team is anchored in the Digital Science & Innovation (DSI) organisation, which supports the digital journey across all therapy areas in Research & Early Development at Novo Nordisk A/S.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in human genetics, statistical genetics, bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • At least a few years of relevant industry or postdoctoral experience.
  • Familiarity with high-performance computing and cloud-based computing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of genetics, genomics, and interest in AI techniques.
  • Proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or conference presentations.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, such as R, Python, or similar, and experience with bioinformatics tools and databases.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with population stratification, Mendelian randomization, polygenic risk score analysis, and/or gene-environment interaction analysis.
  • Understanding of multi-omics data, including transcriptomic, proteomic, and epigenomic data.
  • Experience with biomarker discovery and development.
