About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced paramedic to join our team on a full-time basis at South Rural PCN. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic primary care environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Job Summary

This full-time position involves working as an autonomous practitioner, caring for patients and families in the local community. You will be responsible for assessing, managing, treating, referring, and/or signposting patients with undifferentiated or undiagnosed conditions relating to minor illness or minor injury.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage patients with common acute medical conditions
  • Triage and treat patients wishing to see a healthcare professional, making necessary referrals to other members of the primary healthcare team
  • Work from the surgery and within the local community as an autonomous practitioner
  • Prescribe and issue medications as appropriate following policy, patient group directives, NICE (national), and local clinical guidelines
  • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous healthcare records appropriate to the consultation
  • Actively participate in mentoring and supervision, plus practice-derived CPD opportunities

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A registered paramedic qualification, with current HCPC registration and post-registration experience, ideally in primary care
  • Experience of working to protocols, guidelines, and Patient Group Directives
  • Two years' consolidation of learning period completed as a newly qualified paramedic and a further three years' experience as a band 6 (or equivalent) paramedic (or equivalent)

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is approximately £42,000-£50,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including opportunities for professional development and a supportive working environment.
