Associate Director of Estates and Facilities Manager

About the Role
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced and skilled Associate Director of Estates and Facilities to join their team. As a key member of the Trust Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for the delivery of the Estates strategy and the operational delivery of the estates, clinical engineering, facilities, and capital team functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise the Chief Executive, Executive Team, and Trust Board on all aspects of Estates and Facilities Management.
- Lead the planning, development, and implementation of the Trust's Estates and Facilities functions, Estates development, and Estates and Facilities compliance.
- Support the delivery of the Trust's sustainability strategy.
- Manage the delivery of large-scale strategic capital and operational projects.
- Develop and maintain strategic estates partnerships within the local health economy, ICS, and partners.
- Deliver all statutory and regulatory standards and ensure compliance with national standards and policies.
- Ensure a culture of co-production with all estates and facilities stakeholders, including patients, visitors, staff, and clinical teams.
- Act as a professional lead and advisor for all Estates matters and relevant policies.
About the Trust
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The Trust works collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership. Its services are provided from three locations: The Countess of Chester Hospital, Ellesmere Port Hospital, and Tarporley War Memorial Hospital.
What We Offer
The Trust employs over 6258 staff, including temporary bank staff, and provides acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services, and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000. This includes 357,000 residents in Chester and West Cheshire, as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire with a population of approximately 50,000.
Requirements
- Professional knowledge acquired through a degree or equivalent, plus specialist knowledge acquired through postgraduate courses and experience to Masters or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
- Evidence of continuing personal and professional development.
- Membership of a professional institute.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
- Management or professional qualification at postgraduate level.
- Experience in a senior position obtained in an Estates Management discipline.
- In-depth management experience, including finance/budgetary, HR, service redesign/strategic knowledge.
- Proven performance management of services and delivery of targets within agreed timescales.
- Experience of working in a hospital environment.
