Job Title: Principal Metrology Engineer

BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled Principal Metrology Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Calibration department, you will be responsible for leading the dimensional calibration team and ensuring the accuracy and precision of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the dimensional calibration team and ensure the accuracy and precision of our equipment
  • Develop and implement calibration procedures and measurement uncertainty budgets
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of calibration services
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance calibration processes and efficiency
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience working in a precision dimensional calibration/metrology laboratory environment
  • Strong understanding of quality systems and standards (ISO 17025/ISO 9001)
  • Relevant academic qualification (STEM degree, HNC/HND) or equivalent
