Job Opportunity: Wardrobe Assistant

Ambassador Theatre Group is seeking a skilled Wardrobe Assistant to join the team for the London production of MEAN GIRLS.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar position on a large-scale production and excellent hand and machine sewing skills. They will be able to learn and perform dressing cues, from simple to extensive plots, and have excellent laundry skills, including ironing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Wardrobe Manager in maintaining the wardrobe and ensuring all costumes are in good condition.
  • Learn and perform dressing cues, including simple and extensive plots.
  • Assist with laundry, ironing, and other wardrobe-related tasks.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly and maintaining a friendly manner.
  • Be able to learn new methods and improve working practices.
  • Work under direction or independently, following tried and tested methods.
  • Have good computer skills, including knowledge of Word and Excel.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar position on a large-scale production.
  • Excellent hand and machine sewing skills.
  • Ability to learn and perform dressing cues.
  • Excellent laundry skills, including ironing.
  • Experience of working as a team, with good communication and a friendly manner.
  • Ability and desire to learn new methods and improve working practices.
  • Ability to work under direction or independently.
  • Good computer skills, including knowledge of Word and Excel.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive weekly rate, as per SOLT/BECTU Agreement.
  • A 6-day working week, with 8 shows per week, plus maintenance and understudy calls.
  • The opportunity to work on a large-scale production in the West End.
