About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Medicines Management service to our wards, ensuring patients receive the highest standards of care in the management of their medication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' own drugs (PODs), identifying and ordering medications using electronic systems.
  • Record drug histories, provide patient counselling, and prepare medication for discharge.
  • Work accurately and quickly under pressure, prioritizing your workload and demonstrating confidence and reliability.
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacy staff, patients, carers, and other health professionals.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services with appropriate underpinning knowledge.
  • Registered with the GPhC.
  • CPD portfolio in line with GPhC requirements.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. We work collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership, providing acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services, and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000.

We employ over 6258 staff, including temporary bank staff, and provide a range of services from three locations: The Countess of Chester Hospital, Ellesmere Port Hospital, and Tarporley War Memorial Hospital.
