About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy team in providing high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients' own drugs (PODs), identify and order medications using electronic systems, and record drug histories.
- Prepare medication for discharge and participate in medicines administration after completion of regular training in ward duties.
- Work accurately and quickly under pressure, prioritizing your workload and demonstrating confidence and a reliable work history.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacy staff, patients, carers, and other health professionals, using your own initiative and professional, enthusiastic attitude to provide a quality service.
About Us
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. Our services are provided from three locations: The Countess of Chester Hospital, Ellesmere Port Hospital, and Tarporley War Memorial Hospital. We employ over 6258 staff, providing acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services, and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000.
Person Specification
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services with appropriate underpinning knowledge (BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent).
- Registered with the GPhC.
- CPD portfolio in line with GPhC requirements.
Desirable
- D32/D33 or A1 qualification (NVQ Assessor).
- Clinical Qualification (diploma/Foundation Degree).
- Completed an accuracy checking technician qualification eligible for inclusion on the regional register.
