Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join our team at CRA GROUP LIMITED. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic financial support to our service areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial advice and support to service managers with budget responsibility of up to £200m.
  • Lead and manage a team of up to 6 FTEs, providing guidance and development opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the service areas being supported, working closely with service leadership teams.
  • Assess situations from a commercial business or finance perspective, providing appropriate financial advice to support complex business decisions.
  • Work closely with all stakeholders to ensure best use of limited financial resources, providing strategic financial insight and intelligence.
  • Respond to government and professional consultations, implementing best practice models and other requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of the Integra Financial Management System, working with designated service areas and the team responsible for maintenance and development.
  • Provide advice and support to Members, management board directors, and deputy directors on a full range of issues within the scope of the job.
  • Undertake any other tasks, duties, and responsibilities as directed and appropriate to the grade and role of the post.
Requirements
  • Accounting and budgetary experience, with sound knowledge of local government finance framework, accounting principles, and standards.
  • Knowledge of the major issues facing local government, understanding of the national policy context, requirements, and future direction for local authorities.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences.
  • Experience of attending Member Committees and/or other corporate/board meetings, financial appraisals, modelling techniques, and development of business cases.
  • Staff management experience, with the ability to lead and develop a team, relevant service accounting experience, and experience of delivery of change programmes.
  • Qualified CCAB Accountant or Equivalent, Relevant Finance Qualification, and Participation in Continuing Professional Development.
