Collections Advisor Role Overview
The Collections Advisor will be responsible for delivering high levels of service to borrowers, ensuring their needs are met and appropriate outcomes are achieved.
This role involves day-to-day support in managing a variety of accounts, covering all aspects of account management to mitigate risk to the business. This includes telephone activity, customer correspondence, collections process pre and post expiry, and supporting ongoing projects and validating exits where the Collections function has been requested to review problem accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate and maintain contact with borrowers, requesting financial information with clear deadlines, and provide borrowers with all available options to ensure an appropriate outcome is achieved.
- Provide help and guidance to borrowers facing difficulties exiting their bridging facility, taking responsibility for finding resolutions and dealing with sensitive situations.
- Effective questioning and communication to understand borrower's circumstances, accessing the plausibility of exit strategy while providing a professional and valuable service to maintain relationships.
- Build relationships with solicitors, receivers, borrowers, and key stakeholders.
- Understand markets, products, and operating environment to support the design of learning and development solutions that add value to borrowers.
- Review and assess developments, making accurate and informed decisions in relation to their progress, planning, etc., and ensure a full and accurate response is provided.
- Create account strategies that build on insights into the borrower's situation and define a strategy for supporting and developing assets.
- Present a professional image of the company to deliver a positive customer experience throughout the customer journey, ensuring effective management is carried out on the portfolio to provide a valuable service and maintain relationships.
- Consistently complete security assessment reviews and refer key cases to mitigate risk and minimize potential financial losses.
- Explore alternative options with customers to ensure accounts are managed to exit in a timely manner.
