Automation Support Engineer

Müller UK & Ireland is a leading dairy company with a strong presence in the UK market. We are currently seeking an experienced Automation Support Engineer to join our team at our Butter Plant in Market Drayton.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide reactive support for site automation issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to production.
  • Develop and implement structured problem-solving approaches to improve site automation performance.
  • Own and manage minor automation Capex projects, from conception to completion.
  • Collaborate with the Automation Development team to ensure site-specific automation and electrical standards are met.
  • Ensure compliance with group electrical and automation standards for all site-delivered projects and improvement works.
  • Manage obsolescence and improvements within the site's roadmap, working closely with the Automation Development Team.
  • Evaluate performance data to inform automation OE activities, driving improvements in efficiency and operability.
  • Own and maintain the site-level Obsolescence and Improvements Plan, focusing on the next level of controls.
  • Specialist automation support to site improvement initiatives, utilizing specialist skills and systems access to validate and analyze site data.
Müller Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our business, encouraging engineering-based OE projects.
  • Support the site roadmaps for Quality, HS, EMS, Engineering, and Autonomous Maintenance.
  • Deliver own ideas to improve our business, with opportunities for growth and development.
  • Support improvement activities and events within engineering-owned areas.
  • Understand the impact of own actions and others on achieving site/business OGSM.
  • Aware of how current performance impacts the bottom line.
  • Ability to deliver on-the-job training to new colleagues.
  • Health and safety of self and others.
Requirements:
  • PLC experience.
  • Strong electrical skills.
  • Ability to work on projects independently.
  • Experience in similar Automation Engineer roles.
  • FMCG industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • IT literate.
