Credit Controller

AD Finance is seeking a skilled Credit Controller to join our team in Birmingham. As a Credit Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing and monitoring our company's receivables, ensuring timely payments and minimizing aged debt.
Key Responsibilities:- Effective management of accounts receivable, including daily tasks and activities to minimize aged debt and qualify invoice status.
- Proactive communication with customers to secure payments and achieve maximum cash collection in line with targets.
- Monthly cash forecasting, pre-calling customers, and escalating high risks/concerns to relevant account owners.
- Maintenance of strong customer relationships and collaboration with key stakeholders to resolve disputes and issues promptly.
- Scheduling and attending customer meetings to resolve overdue debt issues with the support of the account owner/key stakeholders.
- Placement of accounts on hold where necessary and review for legal action.
- Timely response to emails and regular updating of customer account information.
- Monitoring overtrading and taking appropriate actions to mitigate risk, including review of order release requests within guidelines and making requests for payment to reduce exposure.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong communication skills, good telephone manner, and ability to build long-term effective relationships and interact with internal/external customers.
- Ability to prioritize and plan workload.
- Customer-focused approach to deliver the best service offering.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of business requirements.
- Can-do positive approach to work with a willingness to learn.
- Proficient user of Excel, V-lookup, and pivot tables.
