About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Music Educator to join our team at an inclusive SEN school in Braintree.

Job Summary

This full-time permanent position involves teaching music to students with additional needs, promoting their emotional wellbeing and confidence through creative learning experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver adaptive music lessons tailored to individual student needs, fostering self-expression and social skills development.
  • Use music as a therapeutic tool to explore emotions, develop social skills, and build confidence in a supportive environment.
  • Collaborate with the SEN team to adapt music lessons, ensuring each student can participate meaningfully and achieve personal milestones.
  • Develop group activities such as music circles and performances to promote teamwork, social interaction, and collaboration among students.
  • Contribute to school events and performances, helping to cultivate a positive school culture that celebrates every student's unique abilities and achievements.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in teaching music, particularly within SEN or inclusive education settings.
  • Experience in creating adaptive, therapeutic music lesson plans that cater to a wide range of abilities.
  • A compassionate and patient teaching style, with flexibility to adjust instruction to meet the specific emotional and developmental needs of each student.
  • Strong collaborative skills, working effectively with the SEN team to support individual student progress academically and emotionally.
  • A clear enhanced DBS check, ensuring a safe and caring environment for students.
What We Offer
