Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Portering Team Leader to join our Estates & Facilities team at Medway NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the daily operations of the Portering Department, ensuring that all tasks and duties are completed in a professional and timely manner.

Main Responsibilities

As a Portering Team Leader, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the Portering Department, including supervising and administering post holders and ensuring that all tasks and duties are completed in a professional and timely manner.
  • Coordinating and producing staff duties and rosters, ensuring that adequate staffing levels are maintained and that any staff absence is covered.
  • Liaising with patients, trust departments and services, and external companies and agencies in a professional manner, and problem-solving in line with Department SOPs and trust policy.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications, knowledge, and experience:

  • Essential qualifications: Educated to QCF/NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or related field, and management or supervisory qualification NVQ 3 or higher.
  • Essential knowledge: Working within a NHS/Healthcare/Facilities environment, and up-to-date knowledge of current and developing Law, Legislation in relation to NHS/Facilities services.
  • Essential experience: 2 years management or team leading experience in Healthcare/Facilities or associated organisation, experience of carrying out audits and/or delivering training, and ability to establish credibility and good relationships with internal management and staff.
