As a Chef, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality catering service to our residents, ensuring their dietary needs are met, and maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Deputise for the Chef Manager and manage all aspects of catering, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
- Supervise catering assistants on shift, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent service standards.
- Maintain compliance with food safety and health & safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff and residents.
- Minimise waste and use equipment correctly to maintain efficiency and reduce costs.
- Intermediate or level 3 food hygiene certificate with Cater craft or similar award.
- Health & safety legislation knowledge, including COSHH and food safety standards.
- Proven chef and people management experience, with a track record of delivering high-quality results.
- Basic knowledge of dietary requirements relating to older people.
- Safe use of kitchen equipment, including knives.
- Able to negotiate, influence, and prioritise activities to meet deadlines.
- Flexible, innovative, and able to work as part of a team and individually.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with residents, staff, and external partners.
