A Waterway Operations Specialist is required to work on waterways in the Wigan/Pagefield and Liverpool area. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and operating the waterways, ensuring their smooth functioning and safety.

This role involves various tasks related to waterway maintenance and operation, including lock operation, maintenance of canal banks, vegetation management, and general upkeep of the waterways. Flexibility and adaptability are essential as the contract basis requires working on different tasks and locations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of waterway operations and maintenance procedures, with the ability to operate locks and other waterway structures. Proficiency in using tools and equipment for waterway maintenance is also necessary. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to waterway operations and physical fitness are equally important.
