As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in monitoring and analysing political developments in Sub-Saharan Africa, providing expert advice to senior management and the Board on political and diplomatic perspectives of our activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor and analyse political developments in assigned countries, with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa, using a wide range of remote and in-country sources to assess compliance with our Article 1 mandate.
- Prepare political and political economy assessments for Country Diagnostics, Country Strategies, and Country Strategy Updates, setting the context for our investment and policy engagement.
- Advise President/Senior Management and the Board of Directors on political developments in the region, preparing written briefs as needed to steer high-level political and policy dialogue, identify political economy factors affecting our operations, gauge political and operational risk, and facilitate our operations in recipient countries.
- Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as politics, diplomacy, international relations.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills in English, at the standard required for official documents.
- Fluency in language(s) spoken in the region.
