Job Description

Job Title: Membership Manager

Company Type: Trade Association

Work Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Home-based, Remote with some work travel

Salary: £30,000-£35,000 per annum, dependant on experience, with benefits including 25 days holiday entitlement and eight public holidays

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Membership Manager to oversee all aspects of membership for our Trade Association and Trade Association Academy. The successful candidate will be responsible for membership renewals, new member recruitment, and record maintenance, as well as managing financial tasks and coordinating with our management accountants and auditors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee membership renewals and new member recruitment
  • Manage membership records and databases
  • Coordinate with management accountants and auditors on financial tasks
  • Organize internal meetings and track team progress
  • Handle member inquiries and provide excellent customer service
  • Research potential new members and support events such as summits and conferences

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and MS Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills
  • High level of attention to detail and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in a membership management role, ideally within a trade association or similar organization
  • Experience in event management, including organizing small member events and supporting larger annual member events
  • Experience in Learning and Development, particularly in developing an Academy
  • Some understanding of online accountancy packages, especially Xero
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations and best practices
  • Familiarity with membership marketing strategies and tools
