About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Nurse Manager to join our team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the ward, ensuring the provision of safe, high-quality, and individualized care to patients and the line management and development of the ward staff.

Main Responsibilities

  • Line management and supervision of all grades of staff within the sphere of authority, allocation of workload, and reporting deficiencies to the Matron as appropriate.
  • Planning staff duty rotas to meet workload requirements.
  • Assisting the Matron to manage staff performance issues, including sickness absence, capability, and discipline.
  • Assisting the Matron to ensure effective and efficient use of the units beds, ensuring services are delivered within contract agreement.
  • Liaising closely with the bed management team to ensure timely admission and discharge of patients.

Requirements

  • First Level Nurse (RGN)
  • Demonstrable post-registration professional development in general medicine
  • Significant experience in managing acute medical patients
