Job Title: Senior Youth Worker

We are partnering with a Local Authority in Tower Hamlets to support the appointment of a Senior Youth Worker on a 5-month contract, with the possibility of extension at the client's discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of a borough-wide Youth Work Strategy and Delivery Model, ensuring effective implementation and evaluation in universal safe spaces.
  • Lead Youth Sports Coaches in delivering sports and physical sessions for young people, promoting engagement and inclusion.
  • Implement operational rotas to ensure sufficient staffing in compliance with minimum staffing ratios, collaborating with the Young Tower Hamlets leadership team.
  • Plan year-round program plans with Youth Sports Coaches, Youth Support Workers, and Volunteers, ensuring varied and responsive programming.
  • Design and implement sports and physical sessions that actively engage vulnerable young people, including those with special educational needs or disabilities.

Requirements:

  • A relevant degree or professional qualification in youth work, youth justice, probation, or social work (SWE registered).
  • Experience in delivering universal provision for young people, with a lead role in a range of settings.
  • Line management experience, with a focus on staff and volunteer development.
  • Experience in delivering services for young people in inner urban areas with complex social needs.
  • Evidence of commitment to inclusion, equality, and equity of opportunity, with a focus on improved outcomes for disadvantaged groups.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with stakeholders to safeguard and support young people.
  • Experience in developing project bids, securing external funding, and managing budgets.
  • Evaluating quality of practice, performance, and continuous improvement.

  • Availability to start immediately or at short notice is essential.
  • Right to work in the UK is required.
  • A Basic DBS is necessary for this role.
