Job Title: Pre-Assessment Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic nurse to join our Pre-Assessment Team at Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Pre-Assessment Nurse, you will play a crucial role in preparing patients for surgery, optimizing their health, and reducing cancellations.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough pre-assessment of patients from multiple surgical specialties
  • Review patients' medical history, identify high-risk patients, and escalate when necessary
  • Interpret blood results, ECGs, and other investigations to inform clinical decision-making
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to optimize patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements:
  • Current and active NMC registration
  • Pre-assessment course completion
  • Experience in surgical nursing, with a focus on pre-assessment and perioperative care
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
