Fawkes & Reece South is recruiting a Highway Design Director to oversee the design development and delivery of a major link road project from concept through to completion. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned civil engineer to lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and consultants, ensuring all aspects of the design meet both technical and regulatory standards.

About the Role:

This role involves overseeing the design process for the £60m link road, coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver the project on time, within budget, and in compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

You will provide technical guidance on road layout, drainage, earthworks, pavement design, and traffic management, as well as prepare and review reports, technical documentation, and design calculations.

A key aspect of this role is collaboration with local authorities, statutory bodies, and third-party stakeholders to ensure project success. You will also be responsible for managing the preparation and approval of planning applications and permits.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng) or equivalent qualification, extensive experience in civil engineering design, and strong knowledge of relevant design standards.

This role offers a competitive salary of £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
