AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts, and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges.

A key responsibility of this role is to apply advanced technical expertise and experience in Accelerated Computing to unblock customers' largest and most critical business challenges.

This role also involves acting as a thought leader, sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, and public-speaking events. Additionally, the role requires developing and supporting an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide.

A day in the life of this role involves meeting with customers and their account managers and solution architects for the largest and most strategic customer accounts to discuss opportunities to transform their workloads with AWS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply advanced technical expertise and experience in Accelerated Computing to unblock customers' largest and most critical business challenges.
  • Act as a thought leader, sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, and public-speaking events.
  • Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 10+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 3+ years of technology/software sales experience
  • Experience with designing, building and operating platforms and workloads based on Accelerated Computing (HPC, Quantum, GPU, FPGA)
  • History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large-scale customers or enterprises
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers
