Salary: £28,000 per annum based on experience and qualifications.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our client's finance team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about finance and looking to build a successful career in accounting.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Ledger Management: Update and reconcile financial ledgers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  2. Budget Preparation: Assist in the preparation of annual company budgets to drive business growth.
  3. Document Preparation: Prepare financial documents, including purchase orders, invoices, and supplier rebates/statements.
  4. Expense Verification: Verify company expenses, bank deposits, and payments to prevent discrepancies.
  5. Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial laws, regulations, and internal policies to maintain a secure financial environment.
  6. Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly to minimize financial impact.
  7. Reporting: Generate and update management and client reports, providing insightful analysis to inform business decisions.
  8. Accruals and Prepayments: Handle accruals and prepayments to optimize cash flow.
  9. Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and improvement of internal processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  10. Support: Support senior team members with additional ad-hoc tasks as needed.
Requirements:
  1. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills at all levels to effectively collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
  2. Analytical Abilities: Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
  3. Time Management: Effective time management and organisational skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  4. IT Proficiency: Proficient in IT systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) to efficiently manage financial tasks.
  5. Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and strong organisational skills to maintain accuracy and quality.
  6. Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals.
  7. Written and Verbal Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate financial information.
  8. AAT Qualification: AAT Level 3 qualification (or currently studying AAT) is essential for consideration.
