We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our team at Brook Street Social Care NMR. As a key member of our staff, you will work directly with families to assess and implement placement plans, promoting the welfare and well-being of children at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Family Support and Placement Planning: Provide families with comprehensive support on daily life, health, and well-being, including basic baby care, feeding, and eating, sleeping, budgeting, safety, discipline, healthy lifestyles, and choices.
- Assessment and Planning: Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of individual families' placement and assessment plans.
- Key Work Sessions: Undertake key work sessions as directed by the Case Manager.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain good working relationships with parents, family members, and professionals, including GPs, HVs, and social workers.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Ensure that all documentation is completed and evidence-based, reflecting the circumstances and issues.
- Health and Safety: Maintain a safe environment, complying with health and safety and other legal requirements.
- Resource Utilization: Maintain the fabric of the building, its grounds, and equipment in good order, encouraging staff and children to care for their surroundings and make best use of available resources.
- Community Engagement: Use community resources where appropriate.
- Policy Understanding: Read and understand Company policies and procedures, ensuring their operation within the Unit.
- Professional Growth: Maintain professional knowledge and skills through reading, attending conferences, training, and other such activities, as agreed with the line manager.
- Reporting and Confidentiality: Report to a line manager or other appropriate person in the event of awareness of concerns in respect of families or staff.
- Equal Opportunities: Promote and uphold equal opportunity, anti-discriminatory, and anti-oppressive policies and practices.
- Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection: Ensure the protection of children and vulnerable adults, adhering to Company policies and procedures.
- Enhanced DBS: Possess an enhanced DBS check.
- Health and Safety Awareness: Demonstrate an understanding of health and safety responsibilities within the Unit.
- Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, including some weekend, evening, and Bank holiday hours.
- Salary: £27,352.00 per annum.
- Location: Ilford, London Borough of Redbridge.
- Reports to: Registered Manager.
