About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Engagement Officer to join our team at ABL Health Ltd. As a Community Engagement Officer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining strong partnerships with local communities, stakeholders, and partners to increase referrals into our service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit and coach peer facilitator networks across various settings.
  • Engage with local people, services, and partners to ensure local awareness and explore partnership opportunities and co-production activities.
  • Work closely with operational colleagues to support and increase referrals and develop partnerships with all potential referrers in your locality.
  • Attend local health forums/groups/meetings where required to represent ABL, promote the service, and maintain local partnerships.
  • Update the partnership database with all contacts including required follow-up contact.
  • Assist with incoming and outgoing telephone calls.
  • Take Stop Smoking Practitioner training to offer support to service users during your role.

Requirements

  • Experience of strategic and hands-on development and delivery of a Peer Support Volunteer Team.
  • Oversee and measure the impacts of Sandwell's marketing and communications strategy.
  • Embed referral pathways to ensure efficiency and quality referrals into the service.
  • Be experienced in community engagement and partnership working in a community health environment.
  • Experience of building and maintaining community partnerships.
  • Positive and proactive with the ability to motivate, engage, and support partnership delivery.
  • Build strong relationships, foster trust, and co-operation among colleagues, stakeholders, community leaders, commissioners, and sub-contractors.
  • Quality driven; you naturally seek high standards and actively seek to improve them.
  • Value and remain open to new ideas and perspectives.
