The Technology and Digital department, led by the Head of Technology, provides expert technology and digitisation strategy, operational optimisation, and analysis advice to clients operating in a rapidly changing global environment. The team comprises several subject matter experts who work together with their manager to deliver client and internal Squarcle mandates. Each team member works onsite and remotely with clients on complex technology challenges.

The Power Platform Specialist reports to a Senior Manager/Senior Technical Specialist and is responsible for providing independent expert advice on business Power Platform projects to identify and solve technical challenges, increase value, and maximise business efficiency and profitability. Working with senior leadership and support staff, the consultant assists in creating digital strategies, process optimisation, and identifying technology solutions to meet client needs.

Squarcle consultants work across project delivery, business, and product development:

  • Delivery: Squarcle Technology and Digital consultants work to provide solutions to clients' changing business needs, including core strategy development, large-scale implementation, process optimisation, change management, data analysis, data modelling, solution development, and innovative technology introduction.
  • Business Development: Squarcle leads sector thinking in developing latest ideas, producing white papers, and internal research on relevant changes occurring in the sector and their impact on the general economy.
  • Product Development: Squarcle invests in and develops its own products, conceptualising, designing, and creating cutting-edge products that align with the business's strategic vision, meet customer needs, and drive sustainable growth in the market.

Consultants have opportunities to work across four broad subject areas:

  • Strategy: Strategy consultants provide clients with guidance in corporate strategy, business transformation, and digital and innovation capabilities.
  • Operations: Operations consultants provide clients with guidance on business process optimisations to improve operational business capabilities.
  • Data and Digital: Data and digital consultants specify and implement technological, data, and digital solutions to realise the value of clients' data.
  • Human Capital: Human capital consultants provide clients with solutions for change management and aid organisational changes affecting employees.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities

The Consultant – Power Platform Specialist will:

  • Work with clients to understand their business problems, technology landscapes, and digital maturity.
  • Facilitate discussions and discovery workshops to understand the As-Is state and existing digital change activity.
  • Collaborate with client teams to translate business problems into business, user, and solution requirements for the To-Be state and define improvement actions.
  • Produce project plans, designs, and prototype Power Platform solutions to demonstrate early benefits and value.
  • Work in an Agile manner, collaborating closely with clients and colleagues to iteratively refine and deliver solutions within the Discovery – Alpha – Beta – Live delivery model aligned to GDS standards.
  • Ensure Agile ceremonies are performed, and necessary information (e.g., progress, releases, risks, issues) is shared with the project manager and other stakeholders.
  • Work effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where individuals are recognised for their contribution.
  • Assist the Head of Technology in developing Squarcle's Technology and Digital capabilities.
  • Conduct performance reviews and annual appraisals for direct reports.
  • Build and maintain data models, flows, and Power Apps solutions.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor team members in Power Apps solutions.

Secondary Roles and Responsibilities

The Consultant – Power Platform Specialist will also:

  • Commit to continuous development by supporting team events, training sessions, and recruitment activities.
  • Carry out duties specified by the Senior Manager/Specialist.
  • Deputise for the Senior Manager/Specialist during periods of absence.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Microsoft Power Platform, data modelling, business processes, data integration, cloud computing, Microsoft Office Suite, databases, SQL, security, and compliance knowledge.
  • Platform projects, Power Apps development, Power Automate development, Power BI, training, and support experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related analytical/technical field.
  • Problem-solving, communication, collaboration, attention to detail, adaptability, time management, customer-focused skills.
  • Experience designing and delivering technology and digital solutions to solve business problems and create enduring value for clients.
  • A growth mindset, enthusiasm for challenge, and a desire for continuous learning.
  • Aptitude to grasp new concepts and produce results quickly.
  • Ability to be self-directed and an independent contributor to the team.
  • Intellectual curiosity, exceptional client service, and a strong work ethic.
  • Team player dedicated to contributing to the desired team outcome.

  • Security clearance meeting required standards.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

The following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Cloud technology qualifications (AWS/Azure preferred).
  • Well-developed core consulting skills (research, analysis, presentation, attention to detail).
  • Chartered membership in a related field.
  • Project Management Qualification (Prince2, APM, Agile, Scrum).
  • Understanding of the Defence supply chain and/or Defence Digital infrastructure and constraints.
  • Coding or software development experience.

Salary Range:

This role offers a competitive salary range of £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
