The Transformation Unit seeks an exceptional Stroke Medicine Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Comprehensive Stroke Centre, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of stroke services.

Job Overview

We are committed to providing excellent healthcare and personally delivered experiences for our patients. Our Stroke Department provides all stroke services within the Trust, led by a team of 16 consultants with diverse backgrounds in Neurology, Acute Medical, and Care of the Elderly.

Salary and Benefits

This role offers a highly competitive salary of £105,504 - £139,882 per annum, commensurate with experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, including relocation support and a Recruitment and Retention Premium, we offer opportunities for professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities

As a Stroke Medicine Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert care and management of people with stroke in all phases of their care
  • Contributing to the delivery of acute services, including transient ischaemic attack (TIA) clinics and ward referrals at the Bristol Royal Infirmary
  • Participating in bi-weekly ward consultant rounds at the Stroke Sub Acute Rehab Units (SSARU's) located at South Bristol Community Hospital and/or Weston General Hospital
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A higher academic qualification, such as a PhD or MD
  • CCT in Stroke Medicine
  • Recent experience and familiarity of UK hospital systems and practices
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required to gain UK CCT in General and Geriatric Medicine or Neurology or Acute Medicine
