Clinical Psychologist for Complex Medical Conditions

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist. This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to work in a busy acute trust setting, providing psychological support for adults within Diabetes. The successful candidate will have a strong interest and enthusiasm for working in clinical health psychology and will be able to demonstrate their skills and experience in developing, coordinating, and delivering training programs for health professionals and qualified clinical psychologists.
The ideal candidate will have a doctorate level clinical psychology professional qualification, HCPC registration, and post-doctoral training/study in one or more additional specialized areas of psychological practice. They will also have a good working knowledge and experience of evidence-based psychological treatments, sound clinical risk assessment and management, and experience of representing the profession in local or regional policy forums.
The salary for this position is £74,290 - £85,601 per annum, which reflects the high level of expertise required for this role. As a member of our team, you will have access to ongoing training and development opportunities, including formal management/leadership training and the ability to represent the profession in local or regional policy forums.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver training programs for health professionals and qualified clinical psychologists
- Represent the profession in local or regional policy forums
- Work closely with the MDT staff within Diabetes Services to provide psychological support for adults within Diabetes
- Develop and implement evidence-based psychological treatments to improve patient outcomes
