About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Railway Possession Coordinator to join our team at Great Western Railway (GWR). As a key member of our Interface Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of possessions linked to the HS2 project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the specification and provision of temporary agency support colleagues to ensure seamless operations during possessions.
  • Arrange temporary accommodation, equipment, and facilities to support station operations as required.
  • Design and produce temporary signage and wayfinding to ensure a smooth customer experience.
  • Coordinate station and highway parking suspensions to facilitate train crew or rail replacement operations.
  • Purchase goods from suppliers through the PO process, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
  • Assist with the arrangement of road transport for colleagues and conduct site visits to ensure project governance.
  • Conduct mystery shop exercises to test journey planner outputs and customer information.
Requirements
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to create and deliver briefing material.
  • Proactive and positive attitude, with the ability to manage concurrent projects.
  • Understanding of the HS2 project and its implications on the GWR network.
  • Knowledge of the GWR network and customer needs during disruptions.
  • Awareness of the TOC/Network Rail relationship and supplier management experience.
About the Location

The role is based in Swindon HQ, with site visits and travel around the network, particularly in and around London, expected.

Working Pattern

This is a Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week, office hours role, with some out-of-hours work and extensive travel possible.

Additional Information

This role is for the duration of HS2, currently between 01 April 2024 to 31 March 2031, with the possibility of extension if HS2 is delayed.
