Job Title: Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant

Are you an experienced and skilled professional looking for a new challenge? Do you have a passion for working with children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Academics.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced teachers to support children with SEMH needs who demonstrate challenging behaviour. Your role will involve providing pastoral support, behaviour management, and emotional regulation strategies to help our students succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the classroom teacher to enable them to teach effectively
  • Help students manage their behaviour and engage with their peers and teachers
  • Provide emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to develop and implement individualised plans

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs
  • Ability to hold student attention and communicate effectively in tough situations
  • Skilled in de-escalation and behaviour management
