Mechanical Design Engineer Position

MARS Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our client's team in Didcot. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a cutting-edge technology company that has seen significant investment and is poised for growth.
About the RoleWe are looking for a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to bring their expertise to our client's product development team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing and developing instruments and peripherals, as well as planning and managing deliverables on time.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical systems and instruments to meet product requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets manufacturing, service, and installation needs
- Design and develop jigs and fixtures for manufacture and test
- Manage supplier selection, quality inspection, and handover to procurement
- Design and document prototype and instrument testing to meet mechanical requirements
- Consider component supply cost, lead time, and end of life
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in CAD packages, particularly Solid Works. Experience in start-up environments, deep technology, and combined hardware/software products is highly desirable. Design for Manufacture, Service & Support is essential, and experience designing and conducting sub-component and final product testing is a must.
