Senior Mechanical Engineer

MARS Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our client's team in Didcot. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a cutting-edge technology company that has seen significant investment and is poised for growth.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to bring their expertise to our client's product development team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing and developing instruments and peripherals, as well as planning and managing deliverables on time.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and develop mechanical systems and instruments to meet product requirements
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets manufacturing, service, and installation needs
  3. Design and develop jigs and fixtures for manufacture and test
  4. Manage supplier selection, quality inspection, and handover to procurement
  5. Design and document prototype and instrument testing to meet mechanical requirements
  6. Consider component supply cost, lead time, and end of life
About You

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in CAD packages, particularly Solid Works. Experience in start-up environments, deep technology, and combined hardware/software products is highly desirable. Design for Manufacture, Service & Support is essential, and experience designing and conducting sub-component and final product testing is a must.
