National Reefer Sea Logistics Manager

Liverpool, UK | Sea Freight and Customer Service | Full-time | £65,000 - £90,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Kuehne + Nagel is committed to delivering exceptional service solutions that drive business growth and customer satisfaction. As a key member of the UK Sea Logistics Leadership Team, you will be responsible for developing and executing the UK Reefer Sea Logistics strategy in diverse industries.

The role requires expertise in all aspects of Reefer and Healthcare Sea Logistics, encompassing market knowledge and skills. You will promote and develop UK Reefer with key overseas partners through regular domestic and international travel. Your primary objective will be to drive overall development of reefer products in terms of volume (TEU) and profitability (GP), aligning with national targets.

Responsibilities
  1. You will follow up and develop sales leads for strategic/global new business opportunities.
  2. Manage the Reefer CCL within the Reefer structure, owning the P&L volume and profitability of the products.
  3. Maintain and distribute relevant market intelligence to key stakeholders within Sea Logistics.
  4. Ensure operational excellence across products through cohesive alignment between customer requirements and supplier sourcing.
  5. On-board and maintain suppliers as required to support key client requirements, including robust carrier selection and management programs.
  6. Review market sector strategy, new business opportunities, and value creation, working closely with Global Sea Logistics Reefer Management to achieve agreed targets.
  7. Align key client requirements with operational departments and service KPIs, supported by regular key client KPI updates and QBRs.
  8. C Coordinate and maintain sales and buying conditions for key clients, analyzing and improving key client profitability.
  9. Respond proactively to key client service requirements and issues, coordinating international travel to support business development and build relationships with overseas partners.
  10. Develop 10 direct reports to prepare for future career opportunities.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in Sea Logistics with strong business and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal, problem-solving, leadership, influencing, and negotiating skills.
  • Strong time management skills, ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Resilience to manage change, adapt to new technologies, and execute new processes.
  • Able to network, develop relationships, and possess sound financial understanding and commercial awareness.
  • Valid car driver's license.
