Job Title: Senior Finance Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Finance Assistant to join our finance team at Page Personnel Finance. This role is crucial to ensuring smooth and accurate financial operations across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process invoices in multiple currencies, ensuring accurate entry into the accounting system.
  • Manage purchase and sales ledgers, ensuring accurate matching of invoices with purchase orders and sales transactions.
  • Reconcile supplier and customer accounts by cross-referencing with statements to maintain accuracy.
  • Post monthly journal entries for prepayments and accruals to support management account preparation.
  • Review and analyse creditor and debtor ledgers, generating detailed reports up to the trial balance stage.
  • Oversee regular reconciliation of bank accounts, credit cards, and petty cash using online banking tools.
  • Create and maintain a monthly supplier payment schedule for BACS processing.
  • Follow up with debtors and negotiating payment terms with creditors when needed.
Requirements:
  • Similar experience in a previous role.
  • Knowledge of accounting software and proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of the industrial/manufacturing industry and its financial regulations preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies in accounts and resolve issues efficiently.
