Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a good-rated school in Buckinghamshire. The successful candidate will provide support to students with severe learning difficulties, helping them to succeed in their academic and personal goals.
About the Role:The Learning Support Assistant will work closely with the class teacher to provide individualized support to students with severe learning difficulties. This will include:
- Supporting students with reading, writing, and numeracy skills
- Creating a positive learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation
- Managing challenging behavior in support of the class teacher
- Collaborating with the teacher to develop and deliver activities that meet the needs of students with severe learning difficulties
- Recording student progress and providing feedback to the teacher
- Tutoring students on a 1:1 or small group basis
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience working with students with severe learning difficulties
- Good knowledge of SEN and a passion to develop your skills
- Able to manage challenging behavior and work effectively in a team
- A clear and valid DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Relevant training to support students with learning difficulties
