Care Home Deputy Manager Role

LocationOur home is nestled near the serene North Kensington Memorial Park, close to the vibrant Portobello area. This idyllic setting allows our residents to craft their own unique stories, with easy access to local amenities and attractions.
About the RoleWe are seeking an exceptional Care Home Deputy Manager to join our team. As a leader in care, you will be responsible for the day-to-day care of residents, delegating roles to nursing and care staff as appropriate. Your clinical expertise will ensure that our Registered Nurses obtain and sustain the necessary competencies to meet the needs of our residents.
You will also act as a Shift Team Leader, providing overall supervision and development for care staff. Your ability to train and develop others will be invaluable in maintaining high standards of care and support. Additionally, you will contribute to the training of care staff and other staff, acting as a role model at all times.
Key Responsibilities- To be responsible for the day-to-day care of residents, delegating roles to nursing and care staff as appropriate.
- To provide clinical supervision to the Registered Nurses, ensuring they obtain and sustain the necessary clinical competencies.
- To act as a Shift Team Leader, providing overall supervision and development for care staff.
- To contribute to the training of care staff and other staff, acting as a role model at all times.
- To actively participate in personal and professional development opportunities.
- To monitor, audit, and review the service, taking corrective action where necessary.
- To assist the Home Manager with formal supervision/appraisal of Staff Members, in line with company policy.
- To implement and adhere to Gold Care's policies and procedures, legal requirements, and relevant codes of practice.
- Excellent understanding of the regulatory responsibilities of a Deputy Manager.
- Excellent understanding of the principles of high-quality, person-centred care and support.
- Experience of writing care plans and leading a shift.
- Experience of working in the care home environment and with individuals with dementia.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to deliver leadership and supervision, work independently, and maintain a professional manner.
- Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
