Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to lead our data engineering projects and work closely with solution architects to ensure the integrity and consistency of end-to-end technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deploy data engineering solutions that meet business requirements and adhere to quality standards.
  • Ensure all developments follow the agreed change process and work with security architecture to ensure solutions are fully approved.
  • Provide input into project and resource plans and support business case production.
  • Work within an agile methodology framework and oversee solution development, including implementation engagement as needed.
  • Apply knowledge of technology options and survey external market landscape for solution insights, direction, and vendors.
  • Identify issues and risks and lead their resolution as required.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in existing services.
Requirements:
  • Degree in an appropriate subject or equivalent qualifications or demonstrable evidence of relevant business/work experience at this level.
  • API and RESTful micro-services.
  • JVM based languages such as Java & frameworks like Spring Boot.
  • Cloud Platforms with an emphasis on Azure. Knowledge of other platforms advantageous (AWS, GCP).
  • Knowledge of Linux & AWS CLI scripting & automation.
  • Good knowledge of CI/CD automation.
  • NoSQL Database Technology such as MongoDB.
  • CDC and streaming technologies such as Qlik Replicate & Kafka.
  • Basic data architecture principles, solutioning and ETL experience and containerisation.
  • Knowledge of database structures such as relational and dimensional modelling and design.
  • Designing and developing streaming services.
  • Designing and developing APIs.
  • Team Leadership.
