Quality Assurance Technician

Job Purpose:

As a Quality Assurance Technician at Veetee, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our food products. Your responsibilities will include reviewing the manufacturing process, plant hygiene, and internal audits, as well as inspecting raw materials and packing deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily audits of the warehouse, factory exterior, and office block areas to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Regular checks on the packing lines to ensure that all products are manufactured to the correct specification.
  • Verification of packing line equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly and calibrated as needed.
  • Ensuring accurate and readable date coding and labeling of finished goods, meeting customer requirements.
  • Conducting traceable tests and maintaining product samples for quality and defect checks.
  • Testing raw materials and packaging quality, as well as developing technical reviews of suppliers.
  • Continuous quality checking of products, including metal detection, weight checks, product seals, and bar codes, taking immediate action on any deviations from specification.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely completion of associated paperwork.
  • Completing batch end procedures and reconciling packed stock, packaging, and raw materials.
  • Meeting production deadlines and minimizing wastage.
  • Maintaining a tidy work area and assisting in training others on equipment.
  • Assisting in non-conformance investigations and resolutions as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous QA or food handling experience in a food manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Intermediate certificate in Food Hygiene and understanding of HACCP principles.
  • Numerate and literate, with the ability to follow instructions.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to cover different shift patterns, including overtime and holidays.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
