Sous Chef Opportunity at a 4-Star Hotel in Leeds

We are delighted to be working with our market-leading independent client, a 4-star hotel in Leeds, to recruit a Sous Chef to join their team.

The successful candidate will work alongside the Head Chef in the stand-alone restaurant, assisting in leading the team of talented chefs and providing the right career-minded individual with the opportunity to grow and improve their management skills over time.

The company is well-known for its internal progression opportunities and has the latest kitchen equipment, a great-sized kitchen, and market-leading back-of-house IT systems in place, giving you the tools to do your job to the best of your ability every day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in leading the kitchen team and managing the day-to-day operations
  • Develop and implement menu planning, stock control, and kitchen management systems
  • Work with the Head Chef to ensure the highest standards of food quality and presentation
  • Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve excellent customer service and satisfaction

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a similar environment, preferably in a hotel or restaurant setting
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team of chefs
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen management systems and menu planning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality food
